sketchbook comics, ca. 2003-2004

Here are the first two pages of an eight-pager I sketched out a good time ago (see title of post), about a college acquaintance of mine who committed suicide at 1990, at the age of 22, about a year after she graduated. I've kept meaning to draw a finished version of it, but... I don't know if I ever will.

  1. I'd really like to read the rest of the story. Can you post a link to it?

It's a sad coincidence. A good friend of mine committed suicide around the same time. She was with a guy who got in an argument with some skinheads. She decided to leave and after she was gone, they killed him. She blamed herself for his death. A few weeks later, she drove out to a motel, filled a bathtub with gasoline, got in and lit a match. She died the next day.

The last time I talked to her, she called and asked me to join her writers group. I was playing guitar at a deli every week on the same night so I couldn't make it. After she died, I felt guilty about that so I started writing every day.

A lot of that writing eventually became the basis for the graphic novel I'm working on.

  2. I was really getting into this and then bam---it cuts off. Another vote for posting the rest or linking to it!

    @ Mike:
    Holy God. Sorry.
